It all started some two and a half years ago. I had just turned 15 and I really needed a way to earn some extra money because I was anxious to start saving up for a car by the time 16 and a drivers license came around. Due to both of my brothers working at Subway and having decent reputations as good workers (well one of them at least…). I decided that I would try and apply. Soon after I applied I heard from one of my brothers that they were probably going to hire me. Sure enough I got a call a little later and within hours I was up at Oak Hallow Mall in front of Subway talking with the manager. She thought I would do all right so I had the job. I was pretty excited. I mean what more could you ask for than messing around with delicious food all day long.
I started my training about a week later with my brother being the trainer. This wasn’t my idea of the best thing ever. Although he was pretty hard on me I was thankful for it later because I not only learned everything but I learned it the right way. Subway has been pretty good to me, I have enjoyed a pretty good amount of the times I have spent there, but a couple months ago I had to make a decision. I needed more money and the store wasn’t making enough to give me a raise. So I had to get another job, this being Big Lots. Then just recently I decided it was time.
On Tuesday I turned in my two weeks notice. It was kind of sad, and I’ll miss making sandwiches for all those mean, greedy customers but after its all said and done, I think 2 1/2 years was good enough for me.
I knew that you worked at Subway, I’m glad that you liked your working almost 3 years there.. That’s Cool… Yeah, through life to make a living you will need more income… that’s for sure. Sorry, that you have to leave though. Sad~
I just finished my two week notice a job I worked at for almost a year, it is pretty weird leaving somewhere that you feel comfortable at. Minimum wage really just doesn’t cut it at a certain point.
