This weekend I took a train to Charlotte to visit my sister Ashley. I used to go to Charlotte at least once a month but recently I have been too busy to go. I figured the Halloween party at her boyfriend Ryan’s house would be the perfect excuse for a trip down there. Also the fact that her old roommate Gretchen and Gretchen’s fiance Pat were down there both of whom had been living out of state for the past few months.

I was extremely excited all Friday because the last time I had been in Charlotte for a few days by myself (other than being there to work) was my birthday back at the beginning of May. So afterschool I went home and packed up all my stuff and headed to the train station. Once I got to the station I had to wait an extra 35 minutes because the train was late. Luckily I had my laptop with me and just watched a movie with my Dad while we waited. The ride on the train wasn’t too bad it only took an hour and a half. All of which I just sat and watched episodes of The Office on my laptop.

Once I got to Charlotte Pat and Gretchen were waiting to pick me up because my sister was at work. We headed to our friend Joe’s apartment from there and Pat and Gretchen got dressed while I talked to Joe while he was cooking dinner. After hanging out at Joe’s for a little while we headed over to Ryan’s house for the party.

When I got to party everyone was full of energy. It was awesome to see everybody who I hadn’t seen in so long. We all hung out until 5:30 in the morning just talking and joking around.

The next day my sister had to work so she dropped me off at Ryan’s house for the day. I ended up going out to eat lunch with Justin (Ryan’s roommate), Pat, Gretchen, and Todd (another friend) because Ryan was still asleep. After that I hung out with Ryan at his house and later on we went to the store to get stuff for dinner.

I helped Ryan cook dinner and then my sister came back from work and we all sat and ate. After that Ryan, Andy (another one of Ryan’s roommates), and I went to see a movie. My sister didn’t go because she was too tired after working.

We ended up staying up late hanging out with people who came over and then my sister and I headed to her house. When we woke up the next morning we had gained an hour because of day lights savings so we had enough time to go get breakfast together. She paid for my food which was awesome. It was really nice because when I go down there normally I end up just hanging out with Ryan and only seeing her at night when all of her friends are around.

I hung out at Ryan’s all of Sunday with Ryan and Justin while my sister was at work and Ryan brought me to the train station at 5. Then I rode the train home.

It doesn’t sound that exciting but I had a lot of fun. It is nice to have a big group of what are basically older brothers and sisters.
