My oldest brother Stephen works at Erwin Brothers Motion pictures in Bessemer, Alabama. The company films for many events including Christian bands. Erwin Brothers is a Christian professional filming company that first started out with two brothers having the same passion in life. They have grown in business and are now filming for Christian singers and bands such as: Nichole C. Mullen, Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, Salvador, Whitney Duncan, and Third Day along with many others.
My older brother Stephen had told me at the beginning of September that he and the filming company were going to be in Raleigh, NC to film for Third Day in a week or so. Raleigh is only an hour away from where I live and they were filming the Christian band’s new album “Revelation”. It was going to be at a huge amphitheater outside in Raleigh.
When Stephen first told me about it, I wanted to go but I didn’t say anything about it to my family. I guess it was about the first of the week when I knew about the concert. On Thursday afternoon my middle brother Timothy said that Stephen had gotten passes for us to get in and hear Third Day. Little did I know that there was going to be many other bands there as well. Everything wasn’t final about going but I was excited anyway! That night we heard from Stephen and things were all set for us to go.
On Friday after I got out of school and went home, Timothy said lets go! So, I changed from my gym clothes and we left. It took a little over an hour to get there after getting a bite to eat. When we were getting closer to the amphitheater Timothy asked me to call Stephen and check-in with him to meet us somewhere. He told us to park in the VIP parking and when someone asks who we were to tell them we were with the Erwin Brothers Filming Company. We went through two security guys and finally got back to the bands busses and trucks. We were to wait for Stephen to come out and meet us to give us our passes… We met him and got the passes that no other person had at the place besides the bands and filming crew. I felt so special and important almost like I was with the F.B.I. or something! With those 2 passes we could go anywhere including backstage or sit in the front row which cost around $200 if someone had to buy tickets.
Timothy and I sat close to the back and we got good seats to see what went on at the stage. If you’ve ever been to a live concert, you know that it’s great to have the music loud just rocking the place. We heard Switchfoot, Robert Randolph and the Family band, Third Day and a few others. But after everything was over about 4-5 hours later. We went back to the bus and waited for Stephen. It was one chilly night and we didn’t take a jacket with us so you can imagine what it was like. COLD!!! Timothy got a call so I was just waiting for Stephen to come. After what seemed like forever he came and asked if I wanted to meet the Third Day band, I said sure which was a question. I waited in line to meet one of the guys in the band Mark Lee, finally it was my chance to meet him. I said Hi Mark would you sign my pass? He said I’ve not seen a pass like this before and I said well that’s because I’m with the filming crew! One of the other guys in the band had his camera and said you want your picture taken with Mark? I was like ummm, and Mark said yes I never back down from a picture with a pretty girl. I said okay sure… Afterwards I met Stephens boss then Timothy and I said bye to Stephen and we left. We got home around 1 am that night. It was terrific to say the least!!
Hey Faith!
I know that that night was totally amazing! That was really special.
