Rants.

This is what really bugs me. Every film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland has Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum. They aren’t in the original book! The twins Tweedledum and Tweedledee are from the sequel Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found There. Speaking of which, I wonder why there aren’t many film adaptations of the second book.

Also, I think the movies (even some of the better ones) make Alice seem WAY too normal. She is NOT normal. She seems extremely hyperactive, flighty, ditsy, even schizophrenic at times.

An Excerpt:

‘Come, there’s no use in crying like that!’ said Alice to herself, rather sharply; ‘I advise you to leave off this minute!’ She generally gave herself very good advice, (though she very seldom followed it), and sometimes she scolded herself so severely as to bring tears into her eyes; and once she remembered trying to box her own ears for having cheated herself in a game of croquet she was playing against herself, for this curious child was very fond of pretending to be two people. ‘But it’s no use now,’ thought poor Alice, ‘to pretend to be two people! Why, there’s hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!

So yeah, If Alice was just slightly less than your typical young girl, it would explain things more.

Also this being unrelated , Hugh made me hungry. I kept seeing pink delicious cotton candy sitting on top my older sisters head. Sigh.

What is normal?

Before we diagnose abnormality, who on earth is diagnosing normality? Is normality things that most people in our current culture do? If other cultures do outrageous things, is it our right to say that isn’t normal? Is there normality in spontaneity? What previous experience do you have with a “different” normal?

I have trouble imagining people that are actually able to shift their focus and change a subject. It seems weird me for people to stop focusing on things they really care about. Maybe the rest of the word thinks differently. Is it weird to expect that other people understand you, if you are a tiny bit eccentric? If fifty percent of the population dyes their hair pink does that split create the new normal?

Rally Days

What is a political rally on a vice presidential scale? Just what you expect it to be. An insane item inspection. Crowds of thousands of people, tried and true speeches, and noise. Also, you get to see your favorite candidates in person (Elisabeth Dole, Richard Burr, Robert Pittenger and keynote speaker Sarah Palin) cool smileys. Yes, the bold font was no accident. We came early and were able to get good locations.

Why Everybody should make retro games (Gamemaker6 tutorial part II)

Ok so lets start where we left off.. We had a game in which the ball/puck moved REAL slowly, perpetually moving paddles that are hard to control… This is what the game you made so-far should look like. Continue reading ‘Why Everybody should make retro games (Gamemaker6 tutorial part II)’

Why Everybody should make retro games (Gamemaker6 tutorial part one)

There is no excuse for not making old fashioned games. It often is very time consuming, but not always. I’ll tell you how to make a two player game in GameMaker 6 right now. Continue reading ‘Why Everybody should make retro games (Gamemaker6 tutorial part one)’

Movie rants

I believe it is a travesty to make a third Toy Story film.

The vaguely open-ended nature of Andy growing up seems best unresolved. In fact, they were originally going to make the film, without Pixar!

They should not make it in 3D, as the plot often takes a backseat to cool SFX. The subplot of the other toys looking for their twins is just plain dumb. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435761/synopsis

The plot of Andy going to college and leaving them at a daycare for little kids sounds like an a jacked-up version of Tin Toy. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096273/

Well, I’ll switch subjects. What Disney film do you think would work best with a THEATRICAL sequal?

Come to think of it, why don’t people go back to (other studios than Pixar) cell animation for a time being?

The amount of CG movies is insane! Maybe if a movie was traditionally animated, people would think longer the quality of the movie. But maybe its just me.

Don’t you think it is tacky when they put (often brief and sometimes mild) questionable moments in an otherwise G-rated movie to get a PG?

Doesn’t that program parents to think that PG films are strictly kiddy flicks? So when a mature PG film (but not in a way that stretches it’s rating) comes out, people get upset. Parental Guidance means that it isn’t for the youngest of children. Yet the amount of PG kiddie flicks indicate otherwise.

I think it is stupid to make mild PGs that seemed tailor made for General Audiences (Madagascar, anyone?) movies to get more viewers. As if PGness makes it more grown-up in the eyes of viewers. It cheapens the rating, and makes the idea of intelligent PG films non-feasible.

Sorry, that was random.

Why aren’t there very many intelligent, thoughtful films this year? Maybe there are.

Can you name some?

Sarah Palin most scrutinized VP pic

Sarah Palin gets more scrutiny than Barrack Obama and perhaps even John McCain. Why is that? Maybe the media is anti-woman. Think about how much more Hillary Clinton’s gaffes were on the national news compared to Obama’s. They demand questions personal nature they would never ask of a man.

Or since the media is getting pretty liberal, it could just be the fact that she excites the conservatives. Also. the fact that she has a fierce political nature scares them. She is popular, and maybe the media dislikes the fact that a woman can be so strong.

Should people restrict dog breeds?

Sometimes It seems like certain breeds cause trouble. Other times, it seems like the owner is responsible. Is every dog a good dog? Is the media just playing on our fears about breeds with a bad rap?

I think you know the answer to that one.

However, it is hard to agrue that a majority of dog related deaths are pit-bull related. Is it the dog or the owner? I have known some good well trained pit bulls and rotweilers.

One crossbreed of both was one of the most timid but kindest dog I have encountered in my life.

Should they be banned?

Why I won’t vote for Barrack Hussien Obama

I’m sorry. I just can’t vote for a guy who’s subscriber portion of his website is MyBO.

Yes my B.O!

Change is such a vague term. I could get injured by a car. That’s change I can believe in!

He is arguably the stupidest, most inexperienced, candidate ever. Watch him with out a teleprompter  (As if you can predict asthma ALL THE TIME)
